Best Suites for Multi Generational stays in Chicago

Chicago is a perfect city for a multi-generational vacation because of all of the great family activities, museums, culture, and history that the windy city boasts for kids and adults of all ages.

I recently stayed at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile located on Michigan Avenue for a family wedding over New Years and found that hotel to be the perfect place for multigeneration families to stay together.

Reserve a BIG Suite: We had two of their newly refurbished Living Suites one for us and one for my parents. Each suite was modern, deluxe and huge with 2 bathrooms, large living space and bedroom.  We were able to reserve 2 adjoining suites so that my parents could watch Harry in the attached suite and put him to bed at night for us. Each living space had a eating area, fridge, sink and microwave perfect for snack time.

Our entire family was staying at the hotel for the big New Years Eve wedding so at times we had cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles all hanging out together and the connecting suites were very comfortable for visiting.

Location Location Location: The Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile is located right  in the heart of the magnificent mile next to amazing shopping and connected to Nordstrom which makes it a perfect location for a shopping and sightseeing homebase.

Stroll Michigan Avenue with over a mile of upscale shopping just a few steps away. Or head over to Oak Street and the State Street shopping district.

Museums are the perfect way for families to take in a little culture while in Chicago. We love to visit the Shed Aquarium, the Art Institute, The Museum of Science and Industry, The Field Museum of Natural History. All museums are within a quick cab or walk from the hotel.
