There’s something about that first cocktail when you set foot on a tropical island that sets the tone for the whole vacation. I like mine to be a little sweet and fruity but not too sugary or boozy, just enough to exhale, relax, and descend into vacation mode. I love a drink that tastes so good I could drink it all day while sunbathing at the pool or all night chatting at the bar.
We just returned from an amazing family vacation to Puerto Rico and stayed at the luxe El Conquistador, A Waldorf Astoria Resort. I had so many great vacation drinks during our stay but my absolute favorite was a delicious Rum Punch created by the mixologist at Drake’s Bacardi Rum Bar.
I’m having a little party at my house this weekend and have been thinking about how amazing that Rum Punch tasted ever since I returned to Chicago. So, I reached out to the folks at El Conquistador to see if they might be willing to share the recipe so that I can transform my Saturday night back yard party into a virtual vacation to Puerto Rico.
They were kind enough to share the recipe and it’s so tasty I want to share it with you too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
