Swim, Splash, & Play at The Four Seasons Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort

It’s no secret I’m a HUGE fan of Disney World … or that I LOVE Four Seasons Hotels. Ever since the announcement of the new Four Seasons Orlando at Disney World Resort, I have been planning my stay! I wanted to be one of the first to experience the magic.

I booked our family trip so we could stay there 6 weeks after the resort first opened. I wanted to be one of the first to experience all the magic that the new resort had to offer for families, so we planned only to go into the Disney Parks for one night – to check out Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party – of our four-day stay.

This resort is absolutely gorgeous! Even Harry was in awe of the beautiful fireworks chandelier in the grand entry of the hotel and all of the fabulously landscaped grounds. The rooms are bright, spacious, and stunning. We had a corner King Lake View room with balconies, lots of technology including an in-room ipad that controls the settings of the room, a huge luxurious bathroom with a big soaking tub, walk-in custom closets, a dry bar, a refrigerator, and pull out Queen bed. Very comfortable for traveling with our 4-year-old son, Harry.

One of Harry’s favorite ways to spend the day during our stay was at the pool. We especially enjoyed several features listed below:

  • Splash Zone at Explorer Island – A super fun splash pad and pools where kids can run and play

TIP: Get to this area early and secure seats by the splash pad. It’s a perfect area for kids to splash, run, swim and play together.  It’s shallow enough that parents can sit on the side enjoy the comfy chairs and beds while keeping eyes on the kids.

  • Lazy River – This Lazy River is especially entertaining because you have the option of floating along the river and under waterfalls or you can shoot people from the water cannons on the sides. SUPER FUN!

TIP: Show your kids the cannons first and play while shooting people going under the falls. Then let them ride the river and wave to people  shooting at them. Harry thought it was hilarious trying to get kids to shoot at him after he had just been the shooter!

  • Family Pool– The family pool is shallow and tranquil and has a small slide that actually doesn’t work  (it’s not installed on enough of an angle to really slide no matter what size of kid you are) but kids still love it. Harry was one of many kids who loved pushing them selves through the slide into the pool.

TIP: If the splash zone isn’t your thing, find a place to lay by the family pool instead. It’s beautiful and there are cozy couches and beds near the restaurant where Harry and I spent some quality time resting together and soaking up the Florida sunshine.

  • Tents by the Pool: Harry Loved the little tents and couches for lounging poolside.

TIP: There are several tents around the Splash Zone, but they go fast so get to that area early and stake your claim of the tent for the kids and some recliners next to the tent for the adults!

There’s lots more magic at the Four Seasons Orlando out of the pool too!  Check back TOMORROW to learn about some of the other family activities Harry & I enjoyed at this very special place.
